Robert Ford, MD
Cataract and LASIK Surgeon
Efficient, pragmatic and generous, Dr. Ford has a gracious, quiet reserve and is able to maintain a steady focus no matter what is going on around him. People appreciate his unpretentious manner. Growing up in Northern California where his father practiced as a physician, young Bob spent hours tinkering with mechanical and electronic devices. He also developed an interest in aviation and earned his pilot’s license at a young age. Bob graduated from college with a degree in physics and decided on medical school out of admiration for his father’s skills. After earning his medical degree, he pursued a residency in ophthalmology because this field of medicine utilized the most physics. After practicing in Western Washington for 6 years, Dr. Ford co-founded Pacific Cataract and Laser Institute. In addition to participating in clinical studies of the excimer laser, he has made many innovations in cataract surgery and laser vision correction. Dr. Ford’s special interests include laser technology, computer programming, hiking, gardening and flying. He has a daughter and son—Laura and Marshall. A superb teacher, Dr. Ford enjoys sharing his knowledge and supporting numerous charitable endeavors. As a dedicated humanitarian, his goal is “To make a positive impact in the lives of those I work with and care for.”
