Paul Chung, MD

Cataract Surgeon, Glaucoma Specialist

Precise, patient and unhurried, Dr. Chung’s gentle, soft-spoken manner is soothing to patients and those who work with him. People enjoy being around his positive, upbeat and easy-going personality. Born in Soonchun, South Korea, Paul grew up in San Jose, California where his father was a minister. Graduating from college with a biochemistry major, Paul attended medical school. After earning his medical degree, Dr. Chung took an ophthalmology residency and then went on to complete subspecialty training in glaucoma. For 3 years, Dr. Chung served as chief of ophthalmology at the VA Hospital in Loma Linda, California. Then, he further honed his surgical skills at busy eye centers in Georgia and Tennessee. Dr. Chung likes to read, hike, play tennis and spend time with his family. He and his wife Iris, a family practice physician, have 4 sons and a daughter—Jared, Jason, Joelle, Joseph and Justin.
