Jason Leng, MD

Cataract Surgeon

Gentle, soft-spoken and polite, Dr. Leng’s unassuming demeanor can disguise his love of lighthearted jest and depth of caring. People appreciate his well-mannered, unhurried approach and excellent listening skills. Originally from Central California, Jason grew up in the small, rural community of Colville, Washington where his father practiced dentistry. Although Jason enjoyed living on forest land close to recreational activities, music was his real passion and consumed most of his spare time. Graduating from university with a biology major, Jason’s strong desire to help people led him into medical school. After earning his medical degree, Dr. Leng completed an ophthalmology residency because it fit his personality—he likes computers, electronics, lasers and paying close attention to small details. Earning a reputation for precision, he taught cataract surgery skills to ophthalmology residents in Loma Linda, California before joining Pacific Cataract and Laser Institute. A gifted violinist, pianist, performing artist and recording engineer, Dr. Leng also enjoys photography, filmmaking, flying, culinary arts, skiing and hiking. He resides in Kennewick, Washington. A humble facilitator and teacher, Dr. Leng is energized by serving others. “Not being able to see is a huge handicap. The privilege of helping someone be able to reconnect to the world and their family by seeing is a big deal.”
